Close-up of Auris.
This might be my last fluid painting in a while. I want to start working on different projects and use different mediums and techniques.
I love fluid painting, but it's time to move on to something different.
I can't wait!
‘The Parthenon of Books’ at documenta 14 || Marta Minujín
Each edition of documenta (@documentaoffical) takes its character from the thinking of its Artistic Director, and is therefore not only a forum for current trends in contemporary art, but a place where innovative and standard-setting exhibition concepts are trialled. Over the past decades, it has established itself as an institution that goes far beyond a survey of what is currently happening, inviting the attention of the international art world every five years for this “museum of 100 days.” This year, documenta 14 takes place in both Kassel, Germany its traditional home, and Athens, Greece. Standing tall in the same site where the Nazis once burned 2000 books, Marta Minujín’s (@martaminujin) impressive replica of the Greek temple is made up of banned books from around the world.
While I'm a big fan of the color field painters (Rothko, Barnett Newman, Ellsworth Kelly, etc), the action painters (Frank Kline, Pollock, De Kooning, etc) of the abstract expressionist movement were just as effective. I haven't seen a Franz Kline painting yet that I didn't like. #franzkline
