Throwback to 1 out of the 3 doodles I did more than 2 years ago following LKY's passing, and I still stand by one of the accompanying thought passages I spewed then: .
"The end of a chapter and the start of the next.
I've also been thinking, that not everyone proclaiming the greatness of LKY did so before his death. Just like how Michael Jackson was ridiculed before death but after he died everyone suddenly announced that they had always been fans of his music since they were young. Just like how Van Gogh only sold one painting during his lifetime. Just like how Kafka died starving, ill and unknown. LKY definitely didnt die a miserable lonely death but I wonder if he should have deserved and seen the full extent of respect that was only displayed posthumously .
It is indeed easy to state that wolves should not care about the opinions of sheep but this sort of ironic, GalileoGalileistic, posthumous recognition still never fails to evoke a sense of sorrow. We all truly only appreciate to the fullest the presence of a person only at the onset of absence." .
