Red Sox vs Rangers 5-23-17 Series Opener Preview
Location- Fenway Park, Boston Massachusetts
Weather- Low 60s and Partly Cloudy
Tonight marks the start of a three-game series against the red-hot Texas Rangers. In their last ten, they are 9-1. The Rangers are sitting in second behind the Astros in the American League West. The Astros became the first team to 30 wins last night.
After this three-game series concludes, the Sox will start another three-games, but with the Seattle Mariners.
The Red Sox are trying to bounce back after a highly disappointing 3-3 road trip against the Cardinals and Athletics.
RHP Andrew Cashner 1-3, 2.45 ERA, 19K
RHP Rick Porcello 2-5, 4.23ERA, 58K
Andrew Cashner is hoping for a start just like his last. He pitched seven innings over 89 pitches. Over that time, he allowed eight hits and only two earned runs. That game was the first win of the season for him.
Rick Porcello is coming off of a less-than extraordinary start against the Cards. In that game, he pitched six innings and gave up nine hits and four earned runs.
A little snippet of the #autoimmuneprotocol menu I'm making for a client this afternoon:
Broth braised collards with duck fat and bacon
Italian herbed beef meatballs
Cilantro lime turkey sausage
Great turn out this morning for @bisnow's State of Boston Healthcare event at the new @lifetimefitness in Chestnut Hill. The "State of Boston Healthcare" discusses the evolving patient experience and innovation within the healthcare and real estate development industries
Ok guys, FOUR new rule changes in the NFL:
1. Using the ball as a prop after TDs, going to the ground, snow angels, and group celebrations are now allowed.
2. Overtime has changed from 15 minutes to 10 minutes. This will increase the amount of ties, but should also help with player safety.
3. The NFL is now allowing TWO players to return off Injured Reserve. It used to be just one. Last season, Jacoby Brissett was the player the Patriots activated off Injured Reserve. If this rule was in place LAST YEAR, there is a slight chance Gronk would've been the 2nd player we would have activated.
4. The owners passed a resolution eliminating the 75-man cutdown day. Now, there will be only one cutdown day: from 90 to 53 players.
This is a great move, it gives teams an additional week to evaluate young guys on the roster bubble. Now, Week 4 of the preseason is more important for players who are fighting for a roster spot. It also gives that guy who might have gotten cut one more chance to make the team or get on a practice squad. Also, this means more guys that wouldn't have made the roster will be playing more often in the 4th preseason game, as opposed to guys who were making the team anyways playing. It gives smart coaches like Belichick more time to evaluate young player's potential and whether or not he should hang on to them.
let's just say the Miami food treated me well 🙈
Got back to #Boston this morning and already missing the #Miami heat 😭😭😭 I had such a blast on my trip and explored a ton and tried a ton of new foods - ceviche, the worlds most amazing tacos, peruvian/cuban food, ugh just typing this.. SOMEONE TAKE ME BACK! 😩😩 While I was there, I *tried* not to worry about tracking macros or calories, but I definitely had moments where I was a little anxious. I definitely indulged (cough cough cinnamon roll pancakes pictured here 🙂🙃) but that's the beauty of vacation… you should relax, take a mental break and enjoy life! Breaks from routine will happen. Life will happen. Life is always full of surprises and things will always happen to interrupt your eating habits. Instead of seeing those interruptions or surprises as ruining your diet, see them as part of the fun and spontaneity of life! It's okay to fall off the wagon a bit, as long as you get back on it. Sometimes after getting back on track after time away from something, you're more motivated than ever to crush your goals!
Getting back on track for me means prepping some food for the week and literally writing out my workouts. Now I'm off to the gym to get a killer upper body session in! What are you guys lifting today?
Friend goes to Boston. Friend brings you back your requested Red Sox hat 🙌🏼 See how that works @go_stobhan_go??? 😜😂 Thank you SO much @cwithnoh! Side note: not a huge baseball watcher (so. slow. 🤤😴 I'm a football junkie), but if I ever pull for anyone, it's Boston (and anyone playing the Yankees). And then, ya know, there's The Boston Marathon, and The Departed...and @markwahlberg... so yeah, I ❤️ Boston. One day I'll go 🗓
