« What about tomorrow ? Day 17»
Sliding shutter found on march 6th 2017 in a street of Buenos Aires. During one month this shutter will be used as a research and questioning support regarding our trouble to live the present as it is. It’s function of blocking day light from entering by the window represents the impossibility of knowing what tomorrow holds.
In my mind the window symbolizes the opening to the unknown. Somewhere sometimes, maybe…
A possible future in which we place hope thinking that it holds happiness and will make our life better. When I’ll be older, later on…
The act of painting suggests this life projection and our inability to be in the moment. Deconstructing the painting by sliding boards from the shutter will symbolize our ignorance regarding what the future holds and the consequences of changed plans.
Then, painting over the piece in white will represent the time as it passes.
