It's only been one month into the new administration, and some serious issues have been inherited: 21 American youth are suing the US for its destruction of their futures in neglecting climate responsibilities; Standing Rock is facing eviction this week if the deadline isn't extended; Navajo coal is collapsing without a strong economic safety net in place; Loop 202 still threatens the sacred South Mountain in Phoenix;...and halfway around the world, our allies suffer from sadly similar situations. I predict this year will be more chaotic, more terrifying, and, with that, more resilient. More youth taking a stand, more people connecting across borders, races, classes, genders, age, educational backgrounds, etc. We don't own the earth, but what we all have in common is the earth owns us. #solidarity#resilience#indigenousrights#climatejustice#power#youth#thefuture#environment#morocco#arizona#navajonation#amazigh#300kmsouth#NoDAPL
This is our home. I believe everything on it is interconnected and we have co created eachother and everything that exists here. The power of our thoughts combined with breathing in emotion has given life to all we experience with our senses around us. To me everything is just a projection and doesnt actually exist the way we picture it. What we experience seems to be only an interpretation of what our brains have processesed to think is out there, when we actually dont really know for sure what exists beyond the sensory outline of our bodies. If everything isnt as it seems and all the above is true, then to me all the societal and environmental issues our world faces is just a projection of our collective inner personal chaos. Weve co created all these global issues. Being unawake to what and who we really are, which is the essence of abundance, love, kindness, compassion empathy, purity etc. Evolving seems to simply be becoming more and more aware of who we really are, and in the depth of this understanding we become better people to firstly ourselves and then towards the planet. This to me is all that centres around the concept of what it means to become a sustainable human being for a optimally functioning planet.

Hello Instagram Community! While this isn't specifically arts or wellness related we would like to invite you to support our community in the "Thank A Retailer" contest. This year the money would go towards new dressing rooms for our pool and hockey arena and towards an outdoor classroom/natural habitat area for our school. We are a small rural community (population 1,200) but we do a lot of big things because we have a lot of people who really believe in our community! This company is one of those that does a lot to support our community and this is another way that we can bring more to our small northern town. A natural habitat would help our children learn about the environment and get outside, a very fundamental part of wellness! It's easy to vote. All you need to do is google Thank a Retailer Canada. Then click on Manitoba and look for Foster Ag Services in Arborg. Then just click on vote! You will get an email confirming your vote and you can vote once a day per email address. Thanks for taking a moment to support our community! #smalltown#smalltownpride#supportrural#arborg#thecocooncares#thecreativecocoon#wellness#arborgwellness#naturalhabitat#environment

-Summer ice declines have been especially rapid since 2001.
Greed and a blatant disregard for science is going to do nothing but exacerbate this downward trend, causing an increase in the amount of heat that's absorbed by our oceans, and further warm up our planet.
@abctv drawing some much needed attention to the massive one use coffee cup problem we all face. If that's not overwhelming enough, just add plastic bottle waste to the equation - did you know that 38% of landfill is made up of single use coffee cups and water bottles!
Don't be a part of the problem, be part of the solution...tag a friend that still uses single use coffee cups and water bottles!
To prevent further damage to our environment #MadameTikkiBoutique has designed new Bedazzled & reusable cigarette #butt bins 🚬
There are serious environmental consequences from #littering cigarette butts. Each #filter which looks like white cotton is actually made from a #plastic called Cellulose Acetate. A single #ciggerette filter can take from 18 months to 10 years to #decompose . Most filters that are discarded have remnants of #tobacco still attached, these remnants contain #nicotine which is #poisonous to our environment. Used cigarette filters are full of #toxins known as #tar , and those #chemicals leach into the ground and waterways, damaging living organisms that come in contact them.
Fantastic news! Brisbane City Council has become the first major government in Australia to achieve the milestone of being 100 % carbon neutral. Lord Mayor Graham Quirk said it was important the council led by example and encouraged Brisbane residents to reduce their own household emissions. Sounds like sensible advice.
Sustainability for everyone!
Today's advice is simple and strong. We usually learn about the 3 important R's of sustainability — Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle. One thing that is never taught and which we promote in @tierraverdeproject is the first and always missing R — Rethink.
Rethinking about our thoughts, words, actions, habits, and buying process among others, helps significantly! This is the R that should never be forgotten and the one that will have the most positive impact of all!
