"I love early mornings when I feel like a rest of the world is the fast asleep and you’re the only one who’s awake and everything feels like it isn’t really real and you kind of forget about all your problems because for now it’s just you, the world and the sunrise."
This morning's sunrise felt something like that - it is my last mountain morning before I head out on my next adventure and it didn't feel at all real. For once there was no internal struggle to get out of bed or leave the city on time. The edges of Vermillion Lakes were plastered with fellow sunrise chasers and Stanley was growling hello at every single one of them. Getting ready for my trip has been reminding me of loose ends...old friends I should make amends with, family members I should call, the last few things to do at the office, the packing I have hardly started... I assumed that the silence of sunrise would allow these endless lists to echo in my mind. But sitting along the edge of the water watching the sky turn into this magic has a way of silencing the world and putting everything into perspective.
Take to where the mountains meet the sea... 🌄🌊 On that note - a little late to the party but justice recently binged-watched the first season of Westworld. Probably one of the most well-written and compelling shows I've watched. Anyone else think so? Plus there's artificial intelligence and wild theories of consciousness - my jam 😱
