35/365, THE PENGUIN WALK, 35mm
The Calgary Zoo hosts a Penguin Walk every Winter; every weekend the Emperor Penguins have the choice of participating in a 1.5km walk that mimics, on a very tiny scale, the trek they would normally take in the wild. Led by a bucket of fish, these gorgeous birds, waddle down the designated path providing Penguin voyeurs an opportunity most wouldn't normally have. We had one walk over to my 17 month old son, stretch his neck up high and *HONK* while staring right at him. My Son was overcome by excitement. Pretty exciting stuff! If you're in Calgary during winter, I highly recommend it!
MY RULES FOR THE 365 CHALLENGE:
I have to show the first shot. No re-shoots allowed.
no post editing. What you see is what I was able to do with the camera
spend a minute or less creating the shot
depict my real day; literally stop in the middle of an activity and take a photo
make it interesting, provide a different prospective
capture something that moves me, be it the lighting, the feeling in that moment, a concept, a shape or colour… -#365challenge#penguins#emperorpenguin#funday
So here is the thing. Even though there is only the two of us (and the animal horde), sometimes it's still hard to get dinner on the table at night. I try to really cook every night and for health and budget reasons we try eat out only once per week at most. This week we already hit outlets once AND we're going to end up eating out tomorrow night because of work. Which means eating home tonight. But life... so it's #frozen#microwave peas #boxedmacandcheese and #steamed tilapia with garlic and ginger paste. And that's okay. #homecooking#notfoodporn#sadfoodies#tiredaf#kindahealthy
