NBD. Just swung by the Mayor's office yesterday to pick up an extra Proclamation for the Women Lead Orlando Event we crushed about a month ago. Pretty honored to have so much incredible SUPPORT from the City Beautiful. #hellzyeah#TDPP#orlando

Our #experiences#connect us. The #pain we wear, the #love we have gained and have loss, inevitably mold us. This is the existence in which we live; these experiences make us #humans , poets. James Baldwin once said, “You think your pain and your #heartbreak are unprecedented in the history of the world, but then you #read . It was #books that #taught me that the things that tormented me most were the very things that connected me with all the people who were alive, who had ever been #alive .” ThePoet’sChair operates as a platform that screams; IT’S GREAT TO BE #BLACK ! IT’S NORMAL TO TALK ABOUT YOUR HURT! IT’S OK TO HAVE LIVED AND CONTINUE TO DO SO! IT’S OK TO BE #SCARED , #ANGRY , HAPPY, OR HOWEVER YOU ARE FEELING IN THIS MOMENT! The mission of ThePoet’sChair is to allow the world to see what my experience has been like being black, being #male , and being alive. My poems are my #light and my #darkness . This is not only a stage for my thoughts but also serves as a forum for discussion. We are here to grow, to inspire each other, to #cry , to taste our anger, and to most importantly to feel. I consider myself not only a poet but an #educator and #activist . Throughout ThePoet’sChair you will discover different curriculums and galleries dedicated to change and education. I invite you to come in and sit awhile.
