The namib desert on the west coast of Namibia is the oldest desert in the world. Home to a surprising number of mammals and birds, it is also one of the driest places in the world with an average precipitation of no more than 3 inches (8 cm) per year. Unsurprisingly it is probably the best place to see stars outside of the Atacama desert. I've a new found respect for the desert mammals and birds that are able to survive this harsh climate. Whilst I'm here, I will enjoy the night life, which, as you can see, is the impressive start of the Milky Way. 15 second exposure on a point and shoot canon hs60
Sawah kampung sebelah,

"Love like rain, can nourish from above, drenching couples with a soaking joy. But sometimes under the angry heat of life, love dries on the surface and must nourish from below, tending to its roots keeping itself alive" - Paulo Coelho
Last time I went to the Peak District was on a field trip about 7 years ago (now I feel old!) with university. Everyone climbed Mam Tor and I opted to stay behind and look after everyone's bags. I was basically too lazy so watched from the bottom and laid in the sun. Wish I had climbed it now!
