In a Moment of Crisis all I need is Lipstick and a Seam Ripper 😎 Ok, maybe that's only half true! Haha!⠀
But seriously, I've been doing a lot of thinking and about all the projects coming up and I'm actually super excited to share soon what I've been up to. 😌⠀
By the way, have you noticed a change in how my Instagram feed is going? And how I'm doing Outfit of the Day photos now?! Trying something new to show you guys more of the day-to-day way I wear and style my clothes. Actually, its also motivation to just SEW FASTER and take the time to make every day special and enjoy the act of wearing my creations. ⠀
Me Made May | day 24 :
I didn't officially pledge for #memademay2017 because I (sadly) don't have enough memade clothing to last me an entire month. Maybe next year, right? But I realized while packing for Morocco that I DO have enough to last me an entire vacation. The challenge? Wearing inoffensive clothing in a country where most people would like you to have your shoulders and knees covered, and my affinity for making backless things. I think I'm making it work! Here's day one of #MeMadeMorocco : a hacked and backless @tillybuttons #marthadress (more details on the blog) over a RTW blouse. ✌🏼✌🏼✌🏼
Day 24 of #mmmay17 and the only me-made item in the outfit is the bandana. I don't know what it is with bandanas or, in fact, any type of headwear, but I feel like an extra bit of confidence is needed to wear them. I feel like they draw too much attention, which sometimes (read: most of the time) makes me feel awkward. Does anyone else feel like this?
Blocking my shawl stiiiill. Pin, re-pin. Pin, re-pin. Re-pin. Re-pin. Re-pin. Repeat. ☠ Also how many hours/nights can a cat sleep on a shawl and it still be considered clean haha? (The only answer I'll accept is "infinite," btw.) I did fortunately finally have a stroke of genius and looked at a picture of a blocked version. Things have gone much more quickly since, but it's still taking forever! Good thing you're worth it, shawl!
I'm sharing a tutorial for these easy baby blocks on the @crazylittleprojects blog. ❤️❤️❤️
Don't you just love that alphabet @artgalleryfabrics by @barij ? I've been hoarding it for months and finally found the perfect project for it! ❤️

Sneaked a pic in the lift of the @sewoveritlondon shift dress I hacked into a top with heart buttons down the back. (Fighting the urge to apologise for my chubby back but realise that as I spend time searching for #memade clothes on people who look like me I should shut up & get on with it! 💪)
One of my favorites, my first Gertie dress project in a beautiful printed sateen by @moodfabrics. If you haven't guessed, I'm a sucker for a bold print! This was by far the most intricate pattern I've worked with, complete with boned bodice, structured bust cups and smocking, but I learned so much and the end product is a dream.

Didn't post yesterday, it didn't feel right to witter on about sewing on such a difficult day. Today, Day 24 of #mmmay17 is a very basic seersucker skirt - only good for housework! Dear @katiecelf & @dreamingofavonlea it was before your excellent tuition!! #memade
#memademay - I wear this backpack almost every day, essentially just to carry my water bottle. I copied it exactly from a backpack that I bought at Target. The dress is also #memade , also copied from something from Target.
