The place where photography was born 'Lacock Abbey' -
Lacock Abbey is packed with history. It started as an abbey and nunnery in the 13th century, after the suppression of the Catholic Institutions in the sixteenth century Sir William Sharrington converted it into a Tudor family home. The last owners were the Talbots, a caring close-knit family that loved their home in Lacock. A truly quintessential, very pretty, English village. William Henry Talbot Fox is the man famed for being the person who took the first photographic negative.
Fun fact; some of the scenes from the Harry Potter films were filmed here!
